What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Management Assistant position at University of Iowa Center for Advancement?
At the University of Iowa Center for Advancement, our mission is to advance the University of Iowa through engagement and philanthropy. The Data Management Assistant supports the organization by collaborating with Data Management staff to maintain a consistent, accurate, and up-to-date database of donors, alumni, and friends. This role involves creating and maintaining records with a strong emphasis on quality, timeliness, and adherence to business rules and data standards.
*This position is eligible for hybrid work (telecommuting) which includes working on-site at our office in Iowa City, Iowa.
- Sets up and maintains records in the organization’s database according to established business rules and data standards
- Processes and responds to internal customer requests and updates
- Utilizes public records to researches unknown, missing, conflicting, and incomplete data
- Tests and executes bulk updates and data loads
- Oversees data-entry automations
- Oversees entry of physical and digital documents into organization’s content management system
- Creates reports and queries to test and explore data and to analyze data quality
- Trains Data Management students and other UICA staff on data entry, systems, and maintenance
Education & Experience: A high school diploma with 3 years of relevant experience, or an associate’s degree with 1 year of relevant experience, is required. SQL or other coding experience desirable. Salesforce experience desirable.
