Inpatient Physical Therapist 50% - Rehab Therapies

The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care is looking for a part-time Physical Therapist to administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders and/or injuries and evaluate and interpret findings. This position will primarily be assigned to the adult inpatient acute care setting.

• Provide quality patient care, evaluation, assessment and treatment appropriate for patient's needs. Assignment will primarily be to adult inpatient acute care setting

• Evaluate and instruct patients in home treatment programs

• Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient manner

• Participate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service quality

• Attend and participate in educational programs and provide educational experiences as assigned

• Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public

• Performs special projects and tasks as assigned

• Positive Impact/Achieving Results: Ability to utilize existing resources and learning to achieve or exceed desired outcomes of current and future organizational goals/needs. Able to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations while producing results

The department intends to hire for one position from either Physical Therapist, requisition 25002452, or Senior Physical Therapist, requisition 25002453, based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Please apply to the specific position for which you wish to be considered or both.

Percent of Time: 50%

Schedule: Monday and Tuesday and one weekend a month, including a holiday.

Experience Requirements:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a Bachelor's degree in another field and a Physical Therapy Certificate is required

• Entry level experience in physical therapy in an inpatient acute care setting

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

Licenses/Certifications:

• Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required

Desirable Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in Physical Therapy

• 1-3 years of experience in providing physical therapy primarily to adults in an inpatient acute care setting

• Experience in critical care

• Ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team

• Demonstrated leadership in a work or academic setting
