The University of Iowa, Division of Immunology in the Department of Internal Medicine is recruiting a rheumatologist for a faculty position at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the clinical (non-tenure) or tenure track, depending on qualifications. This position is not eligible for university sponsorship for employment authorization.
Patient care will occur at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa River Landing, and/or the affiliated Iowa City VA Medical Center.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related releasee and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
Education Requirement:
- Must hold an M.D. degree or equivalent
- Must have completed both an ACGME-accredited Residency Program and a rheumatology fellowship from an ACGME-accredited program
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy interactions with students, staff, and faculty
- Board certified/eligible in Rheumatology
- Experience in rheumatology is preferred
- Evidence of a commitment to clinical teaching, clinical research and/or outcomes research
- Demonstrated experience promoting an inclusive culture in the workforce and academic environment
- Demonstrated experience and interest in basic, translational, or clinical research
- High levels of creativity with demonstrated ability to work independently
- Leadership and interpersonal strengths in relationships with colleagues, staff, and patients
