The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Pharmaceutical Care, is seeking a full-time Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our ACT Circle Pharmacy team.
Position Description
Provides specialized support to the Ambulatory Care Pharmacies, with primary support to UI Health Care - ACT Circle Pharmacy which is planned to open in Spring 2025. This pharmacy will provide several services for patients including the fulfillment and shipping of medications. Under general supervision of a pharmacist, this position coordinates and performs technical activities in the pharmacy. Under general supervision of a technician supervisor, carries out activities associated with training and coordination of Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacy Student Technician responsibilities.
Position Responsibilities
Coordinates daily technical functions for assigned work areas.
- P rovides supervision to Pharmacy Technicians and Student Pharmacy Technicians.
- Reassigns work areas and duties for Technicians based on workload.
- Provides feedback to supervisor regarding performance of technicians.
- Coordinates procurement of equipment, inventory, labels or other supplies as needed.
- Works on-line performing all required Technician duties.
Assists with interviewing, orienting, training, scheduling and providing work performance feedback.
Provides coverage as needed at both onsite and offsite locations. This position would primarily work at the UI Health Care - ACT Circle Pharmacy.
Assists with computer and cash register database maintenance.
Participates in inventory management.
Participates in cash collection and reconciliation activities.
Partici pates in management activities.
Position includes all responsibilities performed by Certified Pharmacy Technicians in the Ambulatory Care Pharmacies along with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Eligibility Requirements :
Any combination of four years of post-high school experience and / or education in the natural sciences OR
Desired Qualifications
Hours : 8-hour shifts between 0700-1800, typically 0800 to 1630 M-F. Occasional weekends and / or holidays may be required.
