The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking a patient centered 90% Staff Nurse (36 hours a week) to work in our UICC Urgent Care Clinics. Our Urgent Care Staff Nurses are responsible for caring for a wide variety of patients from newborn to geriatric. Their primary job duties include (but are not limited to) rooming, medication administration, lab collection and processing. This position is part of a dynamic and fast paced environment, rich with opportunities for learning and growth. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that encourages team work to provide the most comprehensive care to our patients. This position will mainly support our Holiday Rd / Scott Blvd locations, however, could float to other clinic locations based on clinical need / hours.

Duties to include :
- Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness.
- Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations.
- Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings.
- Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
- Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses. Documents / reports interventions and patient / family response.
- Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan.
- Develops, coordinates and implements transfer / discharge planning throughout episode of care.
- Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and / or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Follows universal precautions.

Percent of Time : 90% (36 hours per week)
Schedule : Variable hours; Monday - Friday hours between 7 : 00 AM - 9 : 30 PM, Saturday and Sunday hours between 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 30 PM, rotating holiday and weekends, no on-call time, with primarily hours accomplished as 3 / 12 hour shifts
Location : Iowa City, IA and Coralville, IA (surrounding clinics sites based on needs / hours)
Pay Grade : 52 - https : / / hr.uiowa.edu / pay / plans
Salary $55,910 - $102,559 at 100% time ( based on years of experience)
