The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Supply Chain Department is seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator Educator. The individual in this role will oversee the daily operations of supply chain management within the Main Operating Room / Sterile Core, ensuring smooth coordination of activities related to procurement, inventory management, vendor relationships, and staff supervision. The role will also include the primary responsibility of training, onboarding, and orienting new hires, working closely with the Supply Chain Specialist (Educator). The position involves managing supplies and equipment, resolving customer concerns, and using various software tools like Microsoft Excel, SPM, and Tableau for tracking supplies and instruments. The individual will play a key role in ensuring that new staff are successfully integrated into the department and trained in supply chain processes and systems.
This position will be responsible for serving as educational resource within the Supply Chain Department.
Duties will include :
Training and Orientation :
- Train and onboard new staff in supply chain processes, procedures, and systems, ensuring that they understand operational standards and workflows.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Specialist (Educator) to develop and deliver training programs tailored to new hires.
- Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new employees with the hospital's policies, departmental functions, and safety protocols.
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship to new staff during their initial period to ensure they are well-prepared for their roles.
