The Department of Political Science in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences is searching for an Undergraduate Program Coordinator . This position serves as the primary contact for the undergraduate program and is responsible for daily office operations, the academic course catalog, and event planning. Will assist in content creation for digital newsletters, website, and social media posts. Administrative responsibilities of this position require discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily operations of the departmental programs and office, including coordination of specialized events and activities, monitoring appropriateness of expenditures, contracts, and changes in policies and procedures.
- Make decisions and exercise a moderate level of autonomy while typically performing administrative support responsibilities for departmental leadership, faculty and others (as assigned) including managing schedules, correspondence, and travel arrangements.
- Initiate purchasing requests for supplies and equipment.
- Assist in the coordination of strategic plans in support of the Department and / or College.
- Proofread and edit related correspondence and / or documentation.
- Typically is the primary contact for the project, program, unit, department, or college / division by providing information and responding to inquiries.
- Gather and provide information using available resources.
- Prepare and administer correspondence. Serve as liaison to faculty, staff, students, alumni and public concerning inquiries or complaints requiring interpretation of policies, procedures and programs.
