Job Duties :
- Supervision of Accounting staff including the Control & Reporting team (Accounting Manager and other accountants that are responsible for Accounts Receivable (Billing / Invoicing and Collections), Bank Accounts, and State fund reconciliations) and Student Financial Accounting team (Student Accounting Manager and other administrative personnel responsible for Student Payments, Loan processing, Loan Deferment / Forgiveness, Student Refunds, Student Billing, etc.)
- Issue timely and accurate period-end closing reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Maintain a system of controls over all accounting transactions. Review, update, and implement new policies as needed. Collaborate with related University entities to ensure consistency.
- Perform trend analysis at the department level.
- Assist with compilation and analysis of special projects and long-range plans.
- Design, prepare and present financial training sessions for new and existing department administrators, including new spend category mapping and GL structure.
- Accompany and / or represent Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting in meetings with university management.
- Develop and build relationships with department finance personnel for increased efficiency in reporting of financial data.

Required Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Experience used to substitute education is in addition to any required work experience.

Compensation Statement :
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
