This position will be responsible for supporting the University of Kansas Cancer Center Clinical Trials PreAward Finance Department. The Clinical Trial Finance Assistant will handle the administrative duties for the PreAward department including tracking workflow, routing emails, completing forms for trials and communicating with outside departments and sponsors.

- This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule after 6 months. Incumbent will work remotely and on campus based on a set departmental schedule based on management approval and must reside in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.
Job Responsibilities :
Oversee PreAward Department email box including the coordination of whom to forward to, where to file, follow up with emails and escalate any urgent matters.
Upload Budget information for subcontractors using Sharepoint and Latitude systems.
Request budgets from outside departments to be consolidated within clinical trial budgets for approved trials.
Coordinate purchasing supplies for the department.
Scan research trial protocols and budgets to summarize information needed to provide insurance precert information to Financial Counselors and edit Informed Consent Forms for Regulatory department.
Input treatment calendars and budgets as well as amend current calendars and budgets in Velos (Clinical Trial Management System).
Update Finance and Project Management trackers weekly to coordinate assignments and statuses of study budgets.
Maintain working budget listing of new studies and amendments for subcontractors.
Interact with on-campus faculty and personnel, researchers, contractors and pharmaceutical companies.
Assist PostAward department with miscellaneous billing when time permits.
Update rate justification letters annually.
Participate in special projects as needed such as year-end closing
Required Qualifications
Education :
Associate's degree in accounting, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience on a year-to-year basis
Work Experience :
Two (2) years’ related experience in Finance or business related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor's degree in finance or business-related field
Work Experience :
Experience in Research field.
Skills
Experience working in a fast-paced environment is strongly preferred.
Communication skills both written and verbal.
Computer skills ie : MIcrosoft Office Suite : Outlook, Windows, Excel, Word, and SharePoint

Compensation Statement :
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
