At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.

Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct and review accessibility audits of digital content, including websites, web applications, course materials, documents, and multimedia, to ensure compliance with current Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and other relevant standards. These audits will be conducted in close collaboration with the Web Design team, the Teaching and Learning Technologies group, and the KU Medical Center Technology Accessibility Specialist.
- Assist in remediating accessibility issues with digital content at KU Medical Center in adherence to the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) using programs associated with content creation (M365 suite of products, Content Management System, LMS, Adobe Acrobat, etc.)
- Administer and support systems at KU Medical Center that scan digital content to identify accessibility violations and issues, including generating and assigning reports.
- Collaborate with content creators, designers, and developers to implement accessibility improvements and provide guidance on accessible design and development practices.
- Collaborate and align with the ADA Compliance Office, which offers training on creating digital content that meets ADA requirements, to provide guidance and support to ensure that all new digital content is accessible, and that KU Medical Center is meeting our institutional goals.
- Work closely with other support staff across the university’s information technology department, specifically Enterprise Development & Support and Teaching & Learning Technologies, to assure that content is following required standards.
- Stay up to date with the latest accessibility standards, regulations, trends, tools, and technologies, and provide recommendations for solutions that ensure efficient compliance.
- Develop and maintain a systematic process to check and remediate digital assets on a continuous cycle.
- Act as the first point of contact for users needing immediate help with making digital materials accessible.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Experience used to substitute education is in addition to any required work experience.
- Two (2) years of experience remediating digital files to meet current state and federal accessibility standards.
- Demonstrated understanding of WCAG, ADA, Section 508, and other relevant accessibility standards and regulations.
- Experience reading accessibility audits and using accessibility testing tools such as Ally, AMP, PAC Checker and DubBot.
- Experience remediating digital files to meet current state and federal accessibility standards.
- Experience in creating and maintaining accessible web content.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.
- Experience supporting users remotely or in person.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Certification in accessibility (e.g., Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies, Web Accessibility Specialist Certification, Certified Professional in Web Accessibility).
- Section 508 Trusted Tester certification
- Experience administering and supporting accessibility testing tools such Ally, AMP, PAC Checker and DubBot.
- Experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
- Experience editing web content
