Job Duties
Conduct and provide biostatistical support to research-intensive programs within various areas of the Department of Internal Medicine.
Pursue collaborations that will support a research program with extramural funding.
Publish research in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and present in local, national, and international conferences.
Provide collaborative research support related to the development of data analysis solutions with KUMC researchers and affiliates.
Participate in training and education of graduate / doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows in research settings and in formal and informal group education formats.
Contribute to committees at the University level that support research and teaching mission.

Required Qualifications
Education : Ph.D. in Biomedical Informatics, Biostatistics, Data Science or related fields.
Work Experience : Research experience in data science with clinical, research, or medical administrative systems as demonstrated by a record of peer-reviewed publications and funding.
Preferred Qualifications
Work Experience :
Experience in conventional and advanced statistical methods.
Experience in working with large clinical datasets.
High level proficiency, experience, and working knowledge of R, SAS, and STATA.
Efficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
Established research, teaching, service, and extra-mural funding track record.
Skills

The Division of Medical Informatics
The Division of Medical Informatics is proud to provide informatics expertise and training to support clinical and translational researchers from multiple disciplines and health professionals at KUMC, affiliated organizations and external partner organizations. The biomedical informatics methods and tools we have developed allow our research collaborators to store, integrate, query, analyze, and visualize complex data sets. The division works closely with the University of Kansas Health System and the Office of the Chief Research Informatics Officer in making clinical data available for research purposes. Our faculty is dedicated to developing innovative informatics solutions including data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to support and accelerate translational and clinical research. The division's research is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and other agencies.
