Title : Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

Department : Risk Management

Reports to : Quality Assurance Supervisor

FLSA : Non-Exempt

Job Grade : 9

Job Purpose : Support and implement the process of identifying discrepancies to all applicable federal, state, local laws, as well as UKFCU Policies and Procedures. This position serves as an authority on the Quality Assurance team to support the department while assisting the Quality Assurance Supervisor on projects and potential training.

Essential Job Results :

JOB SPECIFIC RESULTS

Perform as an authority regarding the Credit Union's loan and deposit policies, procedures, and processes to assist Quality Assurance personnel and other bank personnel, as a point of contact, support, and resource for additional information.
Run monthly reports and select samples for the Quality Assurance team while periodically evaluating appropriateness of the prescribed sample sizes.
Complete special projects and ad hoc assignments, as needed, to assist the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Execute cross training efforts of the Quality Assurance Department
Evaluate new membership, account, and loan production to determine compliance with internal policy / procedures that conform to applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
Maintain a working knowledge of current applicable regulatory compliance standards while remaining up-to-date on Credit Union policy and procedure requirements.
Conduct a review of all documentation and systems while cross-checking core systems to ensure the quality and accuracy for member service. Determine whether the following has occurred :

Lending officers have acted within guidelines of lending authority,

The loan is in compliance with regulation and policy requirements, and

The required documents have been obtained.

Identify and note exceptions, identify factors causing exceptions, and make recommendations to correct deficiencies and modify operations to reduce exceptions.

Produce and present exception reports to management for corrective action while identifying errors and deficiencies within core functions of the Credit Union.

Maintain detailed and organized reports of work production to be presented to the Quality Assurance Supervisor on a regular basis and during required meetings.

Guard against fraud and negligence by officers, employees, and members within the accounting and loan production areas.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Maintain member and employee confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential and sharing on a business-related, as-needed basis only.

Selecting and explaining the best solution,

Expediting correction or adjustment,

Following up to ensure resolution and accountability, and

Keeping the Quality Assurance Supervisor informed of problems and solutions.

Comply with UKFCU policies and procedures by enforcing and adhering to internal UKFCU procedures and Board-established policies.

Comply with federal, state, and local regulations and legal requirements by enforcing and adhering to requirements.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by performing the following :

Maintaining an awareness of rates and terms, Credit Union changes to policy and procedure, industry trends, and technology,

Attending staff meetings,

Identifying opportunities to attend webinars / seminars to enhance skills and maintain knowledge of new products that could assist in improving operational effectiveness,

Reviewing professional publications,

Establishing personal networks,

Benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and

Participating in professional societies.

Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing corporate and individual goals and other related results as needed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Three to six years of similar or related experience.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

PC spreadsheet proficiency, general word processing, ten-key calculator, and computer keyboarding experience.

Ability to communicate with others one-on-one and in groups, fielding questions and reporting complaints.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals with American currency while applying these concepts to practical solutions.

SKILLS :

Exhibit strong communication skills and professional interaction with employees in both a group and one-on-one setting.

Ability to adequately answer employee questions and clearly report issues to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Ability to write reports, correspondence, policies, and procedures.

Ability to deliver feedback clearly in a professional manner when necessary.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent with American currency while applying these concepts to practical solutions.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions while dealing with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to work independently while determining when a supervisor should be brought into the discussion.

This position allows for an optional hybrid work arrangement which includes a combination of both in-office and remote work arrangements. (Maximum of two days remote, three days in-office). To be eligible for the program, employees must complete a minimum of 90 days of continuous, regular employment, be in good standing, and submit a formal hybrid work application prior to being eligible for hybrid work, pending supervisor approval. Work schedules will be established by the employee's supervisor according to business needs. Working locations and schedules may be altered at management discretion.
