Job Summary | The Counselor Education Program in the Department of Early Childhood, Special Education, and Counselor Education (EDSCE) in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky invites applications for an assistant professor position in Counselor Education, clinical title series. This position is not tenure eligible. The appointment is a nine-month appointment, effective August 16, 2025. The Counselor Education Program is a program with specialties in Rehabilitation Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling for distance learning at the master’s level, Counselor Education and Supervision at the doctoral level, and Interdisciplinary Disability Studies at the undergraduate level. The Counselor Education graduate programs are CACREP-accredited. Faculty provide exceptional education and training to all our students and affirm professional identities. Clinical title faculty members within the EDSCE department are highly valued, significantly contribute to teaching and training within the program, and serve in important leadership roles within the department. The individual chosen for this position must meet the following minimum criteria:
Responsibilities include the following: Perform teaching duties as a clinical assistant professor; conduct clinical supervision if needed; provide service to the Counselor Education program; the Department of Early Childhood, Special Education, and Counselor Education (EDSCE); the College of Education; and the University of Kentucky. The individual is expected to teach four courses each semester and advise students across the master’s programs. Additional responsibilities may include participating in curriculum assessment and development, contributing to program administration, and providing service to community and professional organizations. The Rehabilitation Counseling program is ranked in the top ten programs in the country by U.S. News and World Report. The University of Kentucky is an equal opportunity employer.
