Job Summary
The Department of Integrated Strategic Communication in the College of Communication
and Information at the University of Kentucky invites applications for up to two (2) full time
lecturers in Integrated Strategic Communication with an anticipated start date of August
16, 2025.

Qualifications & Responsibilities:
Duties include teaching 7-8 courses per academic year with the possibility of curriculum development or service to the department. We are seeking candidates with professional and/or teaching
experience in strategic communication, including at least two of the following areas: research methods for strategic communication, ethics, data insights, consumer insights, account management, media planning, sports promotion, strategic visual communication, and elective courses across the integrated disciplines of advertising, public relations and sales
promotion.

The nine-month appointment for lecturers begins formally August 16, 2025, and ends May
15, 2026; however some preparation work will begin August 1, 2025. Initial terms for
lecturers are for one year. Appointment may be renewed for additional terms based on
departmental needs, funding ability, and candidate performance. A terminal degree or a
master’s degree in strategic communication or related field and relevant professional experience are required; college-level teaching experience is preferred.

About the Department:
The Department of Integrated Strategic Communication offers a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor
of Science, a minor, and a graduate certificate in Integrated Strategic Communication. The
department has full national accreditation by the Accrediting Council on Education in
Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC). For information about the department,

About the College:
The College of Communication and Information is composed of two schools (School of
Information Science and School of Journalism and Media), two departments (Department
of Communication and Department of Integrated Strategic Communication), and
interdisciplinary master’s and PhD programs. Nearly 100 full-time faculty lead 2,300
undergraduate majors and 350 graduate students while also teaching in the university’s
core curriculum and serving students pursuing minors and certificates in the college. The
college also houses University of Kentucky’s independent student newspaper, The
Kentucky Kernel, and the championship winning Intercollegiate Debate program.
