Licensed Pharmacist Physical Requirements This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and / or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; working in confined spaces; and exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and cuts / punctures. Shift Day shift 8AM-5PM; hours and days of the week subject to change based on the needs and growth of the department. Job Summary In this position, the candidate will provide pharmaceutical care to patients requiring Specialty and non-specialty medications through the UK Specialty Pharmacy in accordance with accreditation standards and contractual obligations. Responsibilities include serving as the primary liaison between UK Specialty Pharmacy and UK’s ambulatory clinics; ensuring safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy is implemented for all patients under their care and monitoring care appropriately; facilitating the formulary review process for specialty and non-specialty medications; participating in appropriate hospital and / or departmental committees relevant to practice area; and establishing safe practices for infusion therapy handling, as well as collaborating and communicating with multidisciplinary team members involved in providing services to patients. Also responsible for supervising PharmD students, technicians, undergraduate and graduate student teaching, and providing educational programs for hospital staff.
