Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Utilities Systems Manage, the Facilities Applications Systems Analyst oversees facilities applications systems relating to Building Automation Systems (BAS), Including Tridium; Johnson Controls; Swisslog; Power Monitoring; Predictive Emissions; Security; etc., and ensures integration between systems; identifies standards and prioritizes project tasks and related activities to meet stakeholders needs and users functional automated processes; researches and evaluates applications and systems; creates specifications for programs, including flowcharts and diagrams; creates, configures, and modifies applications, as needed; tests applications and systems for functionality and performance; provides technical support for applications and systems; gathers and analyzes data to support decision making regarding performance, capacity, and fault tolerance; utilizes diagnostic tools such as testing, troubleshooting, and analysis to correct and resolve applications’ problems; identifies and fixes errors and other technical issues; escalates issues to vendor(s), as needed, and collaborates closely with vendors for solutions; communicates and interacts thoroughly with Facilities Information Services (FIS) on issues of maintenance, hardware upgrades, and programming; provides system data to and consults with other technicians while troubleshooting problems, including network systems BAS, Swisslog, and Security, etc.; collaborates with cybersecurity on standards affecting assigned applications and/or areas; and analyzes log file entries to ensure appropriate applications, interprets log file anomalies, and enacts corrective and/or preventative action(s), as needed.
In addition, this position maintains applications and systems, including backups, upgrades, and performance improvements; creates and maintains documentation for applications and systems, including backup schedules and data storage; works with information technology on storage location(s) and setup for redundancy; ensures back-ups and protection of data to avoid critical catastrophic loss; supports and administers enterprise applications including implementation, installation, configuration, development concepts, and documentation; participates in creating requirements and detailed specifications; and adheres to requirements and specifications.
