Job Summary
This position (with the working title of Research Navigation Specialist) will serve as primary contact for researchers and research teams with questions about navigating the research lifecycle. This individual will guide teams through the research process and connect them with relevant internal and external resources and colleagues to bolster project success, including the Office of the Vice President for Research ( OVPR ), Office of Sponsored Projects Administration ( OSPA ), Center for Clinical and Translational Science ( CCTS ), and the Clinical Research Support Office ( CRSO ). In addition, the successful candidate will develop resources to streamline and support research projects, demonstrate the effectiveness of available resources, and disseminate the information across the College. Further, the Research Navigation Specialist will link researchers to training opportunities or provide individualized guidance for activities including IRB initial submissions/modifications.
The ideal candidate will exhibit great attention to detail, excellent research management experience, strong organization skills, ability to work well with teams, ability to effectively problem-solve complex situations, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain information and communicate effectively with various internal and external constituencies. Prior research experience is required, and experience working in an academic setting is preferred.
