Job Summary
The University Press of Kentucky publishes 50-60 academic and trade books annually. The successful applicant will assist the press’s Editorial staff by coding and formatting book manuscripts; preparing manuscripts for typesetting; checking page proofs; editing indexes; proofreading marketing copy; updating records in a database; applying for CIP data; managing reprint editions; and other tasks as needed. Candidates should be detail-oriented and comfortable in a deadline-driven environment. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word is required. Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style and/or prior experience in publishing.
