What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor of Mathematics position at University of Louisiana Monroe?
The Mathematics Program within the School of Sciences at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) is seeking an innovative individual to teach Mathematics undergraduate courses beginning Fall 2024. The School of Sciences offers a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with concentrations in mathematics education and actuarial sciences.
- Teach undergraduate courses during the fall and spring semester.
- Advise students and maintain records of student progress.
- Assist in all areas of program improvement, including participation in curriculum development, evaluation, and assessment.
- Actively participate in recruitment for the mathematics degree program.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Candidates must be passionate about teaching undergraduates. Candidates should have at least a master’s degree in mathematics or related field with a minimum of 18 semester hours of graduate mathematics coursework. Qualifications include:
- Innovative pedagogical approaches to teaching undergraduates from diverse backgrounds
- Coursework and/or experience in mathematics or related field
- Effective oral and written communication skills
