The Program Assistant will support activities to grow revenue-generating activities around the use of nanocellulose in art, to include material distribution, identification of grant opportunities and other events. This position will also support the growing demand from K12 teachers to incorporate nanocellulose into STEAM programming. Typical hiring range for this part-time, soft-money funded position is $30,000 to $35,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications : Required :

Master of Fine Art degree in Sculpture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in other art related fields

Significant experience (5 years) planning and organizing events for a business audience

Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships with partners and all levels of staff

Experience that demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work well and maintain composure under pressure, and solve problems

Excellent skills investigating & understanding of materiality in the creation of 2D, 3D, & installation art

Experience coordinating art shows in a university gallery & museum setting

Experience introducing new materials to students and researchers

Ability to construct displays and navigate installation in challenging spaces

Significant Exhibition record & personal research with current art trends

Preferred :

Experience working with nanocellulose in art and K12 projects

Knowledge of best practices and experience developing new programs and initiatives for talent and innovation partnerships, especially at land-grant institutions

Experience developing effective working relationships with businesspeople, local and state government officials, as well as University faculty, staff, and administration

Knowledge of desktop applications and relational databases, especially Salesforce

Experience developing, packaging, and implementing creative solutions for partners

Knowledge of marketing and public relations

Curatorial and art installation experience
