The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking to hire a Head Baseball Coach .
The Head Men’s Baseball Coach is a 12-month position that reports directly to the Executive Director of Athletics & Recreation. This position will serve as the Head Baseball Coach and assume all duties of a head coach at the NCAA Division III level. This position will also collaborate with athletic management and personnel, performing additional duties within the athletics department to help with athletic and recreation operations. This position will serve as the athletics’ facilities & equipment manager, and other duties deemed necessary for the department to run. This position will assist with other departmental needs as assigned, including game management responsibilities.
This position has a varied schedule and includes working nights, weekends and some holidays.

Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the salary range for this full time on campus position is $45,000-$50,000. The university will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion. Required Requirements/ Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience:
- Experience working with students in an academic setting.
- Previous baseball coaching experience.
- Equitable appreciation of all sports.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deal with a variety of people in a courteous, tactful, and efficient manner.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Possess superior organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to recruit, retain, and maintain a healthy baseball roster.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge and understanding of baseball.
- Knowledge of athletic recruitment methods and techniques.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Knowledge of NCAA and university regulations and guidelines governing recruitment of student-athletes and a commitment to fair play.
- Ability to lead and guide student-athletes in area of specialty.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgements.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with student-athletes in an academic setting.
- Experience with facilities and equipment management.
- Previous NCAA coaching experience.
- Previous collegiate baseball playing experience.
- Familiarity with NCAA standards, rules, and regulations.
