The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) Studio Arts Department invites applications for a Part-Time Faculty position in Graphic Design within our undergraduate Fine Arts department. This role is specifically tailored for an educator passionate about graphic design and digital media who can deliver high-quality instruction in person and develop and deliver an online studio curriculum. The ideal candidate will possess creative skills, technical proficiency across industry-aligned tools, and a commitment to fostering the next generation of graphic design professionals in a virtual learning environment.
The selected candidate will be required to teach in the Spring 2025 Semester.
This position is remote for Spring 2025 semester and will then transition to on-campus for Fall 2025.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Fine Arts (MFA) or Graduate Certificate in Graphic Design or a closely related discipline (or currently enrolled in an accredited program).
- Experience in teaching graphic design courses to adult learners, particularly in online or hybrid formats.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design, digital media, and visual communication expertise.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software, accessible free/low-cost alternatives
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
Salary is per credit hour and commensurate with qualifications and previous experience, in accordance with the PATFA contract.
