What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Information Systems Analyst - Pathology position at University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc?
Analyze proposed IS changes to determine how they will affect the laboratory workflow, regulations and patient care. Analyze trends in provider ordering. Responsible for building new orderables and maintaining current orderables and components in Cerner Millennium LIS. Integrate changes from reference lab into Cerner Millennium interface tables. Troubleshoot problems with LIS and other applications and engages and coordinates various campus IS departments when needed for resolution of problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three to five years experience with server applications, troubleshooting, installation and setup
- Three to five years experience with Cerner Millennium including database analysis, design and build
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.Displays technical expertise and product knowledge as it relates to Clinical Testing and Cerner.
2.Provides ongoing application support for Cerner including problem investigation and resolution.
3.Monitors and troubleshoots Cerner Reference Lab Interface.
4.Runs and distributes various LIS database reports for data entry quality, data entry quantity and statistical analysis.
5.Ensures CAP and UMPA guidelines are met for all Cerner activities.
6.Provides Cerner LIS training to all new employees while adhering to UMPA and CAP practices and standards.
7.Manages multiple tasks and requests while utilizing time efficiently.
8.Assists Lab Manager with additional duties as assigned

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
