What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Solutions Architect Manager-Finance-Hybrid Opportunity position at University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc?
Reports to the Director of Financial Support Services and is responsible for the strategic planning, project management and solution architecture for all financial solutions within the department. Assesses the systems architecture currently in place and works with staff to recommend solutions for improvement. Builds and integrates information systems to meet the financial business strategy of FPI. Resolves technical problems as they arise with current applications. Provides supervision and guidance to support services team and continually researches current and emerging technologies and proposes changes where needed; and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in information systems, computer science, accounting or related field
- 10 years experience in systems analysis, configuration and solution architecture, at least five of which involved healthcare and/or financial management systems applications
- Microsoft Dynamic Great Plains Administration experience preferred
- Accounting and Finance knowledge required
- ITIL Certification preferred
- Microsoft Certified Power Platform preferred
- Project management and leadership skills are essential
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (see Leadership Competencies for additional essential functions).
- Provides leadership in the form of strategic planning, project management and solution architecture for all financial solutions within the department.
- Keeps current on technology and financial software trends. Presents industry standards and best practices for financial solutions to leadership.
- Plans and develops a 5 year solutions & roadmap for the financial systems and applications transformation and modernization.
- Determines business structure, processes, and operations that allow FPI and clients to meet its strategic objectives for financial integration and support.
- Responsible for the technological and business expertise support of all Finance department software solutions.
- Responsible for partnering with ITM and other stakeholders to ensure financial architecture meets with corporate strategy.
- Supervises the Financial Systems Support team and ensures financial systems are supported. Primary lead for user communication and works to develop partnerships with ITM and our user base.
- Manages and serves as the Administrator for Great Plains, Doc Link, FRx and Host Analytics. To include: installation, configuration, administration, user support, upgrades, hotfixes, patches, etc.
- Assists with the development and administration of SQL server, databases, SSRS, and integrations.
- Accounts for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources, and scope
- Works closely with project teams to successfully monitor progress of initiatives

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
