What are the responsibilities and job description for the Call Center Specialist I-Neurology position at University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc?
Responds to a high volume of telephone calls including scheduling the appropriate medical exams and tests and fulfilling report requests; and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Answers and triage calls accordingly.
- Schedules patient appointments and remind patients of necessary items to bring including their referral, medications.
- Writes messages and assure charts are pulled and taken to the technicians.
- Handles inquiries about insurances accepted, office hours, services, locations, exam fees, doctor information, etc.
- Enters referral information into the computer system.
- Prepares and mail new patient packets.
- Prints chart labels.
- Assists in other clerical duties as able and requested.
- Answers calls in a prompt, professional and polite manner.
- Ensures that all messages are clearly written and distributed promptly and appropriately.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Cooperates and communicates with all departments.
- Completes mandatory employee health, workers compensation, HR processes and other training and requirements in required time frame to ensure compliance with all FPI rules and regulations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred1-year related office or customer service experience
- Entry level computer skills (specific programs as deemed by department)
- Strong customer service and phone etiquette skills
- Accurate data entry skills.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
