Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to oversee patient care services within our Labor & Delivery unit. As an integral part of our leadership team, you will collaborate with the Nursing Director and other senior leaders to achieve clinical and service quality objectives. Your role will involve ensuring high standards of patient care, enhancing nursing staff performance, and fostering a multidisciplinary team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and Evaluate Care Delivery Systems
Work closely with medical staff to assess and adapt care delivery systems to meet the needs of our evolving patient population.
Communicate strategic plans and objectives effectively to the nursing staff to ensure alignment with our clinical program goals.
Ensure clinical excellence by meeting regulatory standards and improving patient outcomes.
Leadership and Quality Management
Take charge of assessing service quality and proactively gather feedback to enhance patient experiences.
Guide staff with effective coaching on process improvement techniques to optimize unit performance.
Provide visible leadership support during a variety of shifts to foster strong employee relationships.
Resource Management
Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to maximize staffing efficiency and maintain financial objectives within the unit.
Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes staff retention and professional growth.
Clinical Utilization and Development
Implement strategic initiatives to improve clinical pathways and case management.
Support staff development through effective onboarding, competency validation, and continuous education.
Innovation and Communication
Champion the integration of automated clinical and administrative systems to streamline unit processes.
Ensure that all team members are knowledgeable about organizational goals and actively participate in achieving them.
Qualifications
Licensure / Certification : Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in Maryland or a compact state. Certification in nursing specialty is preferred.
Life Support Certification : Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E certification required.
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree with management coursework is preferred.
Experience : 3-5 years of nursing experience required; 5-7 years preferred. A background in clinical leadership is a plus.
Skills : Strong communication skills in English, both orally and in writing. Proven ability to build effective professional relationships within a healthcare team.
