M-F Hybrid/Remote role - flexible day shift
Under direct supervision, develops, implements, and maintains various database applications. Communicates with relevant stakeholders to ensure data is accurate and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
1. Monitor, analyze, and reconcile revenue cycle and patient workers on a consistent basis. Provide recommendations to Business Supervisor and Nurse Manager as appropriate. Successfully interface and communicate with the Central Business Office (CBO). Act as a liaison between clinical practice and the CBO for any issues related to revenue cycle or patient workqueues. Any urgent issues shall be escalated appropriately
2. Provides support for special projects and assignments. Researches, analyzes, and summarizes information and source materials for reports. Prepares data on projects and studies, such as updating procedure manuals or analyzing department activities.
3. Supports clinic management with ordering clinical and clerical supplies.
4. Create, maintain, and update provider clinical master templates in Epic. Makes recommendations to clinical management to update physician templates and to improve patient access and template levelling.
5. Assists with denial reconciliation as requested by clinical management. On an as needed basis, coordinates training for newly on-boarded employees in the department in this role.
6. Adheres to UMMC standards of service excellence.
7. Assists and supports clinical management with charge reconciliation reports.
8. Assists clinical management with a variety of clinical and financial reports to support clinical operations.
Education and Experience
- AA Degree required.
- One (1) year’s ambulatory or private practice experience required. Two to three (2-3) years of office experience preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and/or Electronic Medical Records is preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare setting with revenue cycle activities preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective oral and written communication skills are required to work successfully with a diverse group of people at various position levels inside and outside of the organization.
- High level of organizational skills and the ability to complete tasks under strict timelines is required.
