Exempt position full time days
JOB SUMMARY : In collaboration with the Assistant Vice President Patient Services and the Senior Vice President Patient Services / CNO (Nursing Leadership) assists him / her in the daily management of the unit in the coordination of patient flow in assuring appropriate staffing budget compliance and in the preparation of performance evaluations. Twentyfour (24) hour accountability and responsibility for designated unit.
Qualifications :
Education & Training : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Maryland. Bachelors degree in Nursing is required; Masters preferred. Certification in BCLS is required; ACLS certification is preferred. Nursing Administration or clinical certification preferred.
Work Orientation & Experience : The Nurse Manager has a minimum of three years of recent nursing experience in an acute care setting; including one (1) year Charge Nurse experience. Proven clinical competence and proficiency in the area of specialty is required.
Skills & Abilities : Ability to : a) prioritize work assignments and complete duties within prescribed time frames; b) establish and maintain positive working relationships and open lines of communication with a variety of people; c) make independent decisions; d) demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills; e) demonstrate the following skills : planning decisionmaking delegating and coaching; and f) manages effectively in a constantlychanging highpressure environment.
