Job Description:
As a Surgical Technologist Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services department. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to prepare operating rooms, select surgical instruments and equipment, and ensure that all necessary supplies are available. Your expertise in patient care and attention to detail will be invaluable in providing high-quality care to our patients.
Main Responsibilities:
• Prepare operating rooms and select surgical instruments and equipment
• Ensure that all necessary supplies are available and properly labeled
• Assist in the preparation of patients for procedures
• Hand instruments to surgeons as requested
• Perform duties associated with basic patient care
• Match preference cards to correct scheduled cases
• Work with surgeons to update preference cards as needed
• Assist in the preparation of supplies for sterilization
• Provide oversight and accountability for team members
• Ensure proper sterilization methods are used
• Review and assist in revising policies and procedures
• Promote a continual learning environment by providing training to others formally and informally
Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
• Completion of 15 continuing education units (CEU) required
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program required
• 5 years of related experience required
• Proficiency in 3 service lines and expertise in 1 required
• BLS certification required
• Certification from a National certification program as a Surgical Technologist required
