Job Description
General Summary
The Revenue Services Project Manager coordinates directly with the leadership and staff of the Central Business Office to develop operational project plans, manage project plans on a day to day basis and effectively communicates project expectations to stakeholders. Projects will not be exclusive to the Revenue Cycle and may include HIM, EPIC Go-Live consolidations, and Patient Access. Specific duties will include developing project plans and schedules, managing issues, risks and costs, creating data analyses, researching leading practices, completing project tasks, documenting key project aspects, contributing critical thinking and conducting follow up tasks. Responsible for communicating at all levels of the organization.

- Effectively develop and manage project plans and work in coordination with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on project commitments. Support tracking and day to day project coordination and related communications at the direction of the Senior Manager:
- Identify project support needs and clarify specific requirements for each project assigned.
- Create project plans and timelines that integrate feedback from key team members or customers.
- Track and report on project performance against established timelines or budget constraints.
- Complete all tasks assigned as part of the project team.
- Identify any project barriers or risks; identify data analyses that will accurately size and scope any barrier or risk and escalate to appropriate management levels for decision.
- Schedule, conduct and record meetings with key team members to progress the project.
- Provide well-written status updates or deliverables as needed for each project.
- Ensure that project objectives are met by monitoring & measuring progress regularly to identify variances to plan and take corrective action as necessary.
- Coordinate activities across Entity departments to achieve desired results:
- Establish solid working relationships with all key impacted hospital departments for each project assigned.
- Continuously develop personal project management skills and relevant healthcare / revenue services knowledge.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field is required; or equivalent of five years progressive experience in project management, required.
- Minimum of three (3) or more years of experience developing and analyzing financial and statistical information is required.
- Must be proficient using Microsoft applications such as Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to identify trends, define problems, collect data, establish fact, draw valid conclusions and identify opportunities for improvement and effectively communicate both orally and in writing and present information and respond to questions knowledgeably.
- Solid understanding of project management methodology including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications, perform resource allocations and run team meetings.
- Ability to craft a compelling message and tailor it for a given audience. Ability to convert technical insights into simple, everyday language to deliver a story that is understandable.
- Knowledge of and experience in large scale central business office with ability to prioritize and multi-task in fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of full scope revenue cycle management process; patient registration, coding, billing, payment posting, revenue assurance, billing integrity, denial tracking/resolution, accounts receivable, medical terminology, payer contract familiarity.
- Working knowledge of electronic health record systems and automated workflow capability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of the principles of accounting and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software required. Strong proficiency in Microsoft office with advanced Excel skills.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary in order to work with all levels within the organization, and produce clear and concise reports of relatively complicated issues.
- Knowledge of changes within healthcare environment, current collection laws, billing practices, medical terminology and insurance updates by reviewing a maintaining a library of bulletins, newsletters, manuals, and guides.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with other hospital employees, physicians, patients, volunteers and visitors to promote a positive response to the hospital and positive work environment.
