POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Asst. Director Security Safety and Disaster Preparedness, the Support Services Team Lead supervises and coordinates the concierge and communications operations of the hospital. Functions in the capacity of telephone operator and concierge as required provide needed coverage.
Principal Duties: 1. Schedules staffing to provide switchboard coverage 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including holidays and weekends 2. Orients new staff to departmental policies, practices and routines to enable independent switchboard operation 3. Assesses and provides written employee performance appraisals within specified time frames 4. Documents the need and supervises the scheduling and provision of phone repair services specific to the Communications Department 5. Handles and resolves caller complaints in a timely manner; responds within 24 hours 6. Conducts trail audits on calls at least bi-monthly (twice a month) to ensure operators are professional and knowledgeable 7. Effectively implements the progressive disciplinary process with guidance from the Department Director and Human Resources, as needed 8. Monitors and processes invoices for the Communications Department to include ordering office supplies, SPOK, etc. 2 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 9. Performs all operator functions per policy, standard guidelines and practices in a temporary basis as necessary due to unforeseen staffing shortages.

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) is required
Three to five years’ experience with PBX or other major telephone system required, 5-7 years experience preferred
One year supervisory experience preferred.
