The Cardiovascular Medicine Division of the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting for a senior physician-scientist.Expected rank will be Associate Professor or Professor, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the research, teaching and / or clinical missions of the University, will sustain an externally funded individual research program consistent with the Department and School of Medicine's vision, assist in the recruitment of funded investigators, and enhance cardiology research opportunities for the division.Ample time will be protected for research.
The expected salary range for Associate Professors is $, (min) and $, (max).The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental variable compensation programs. The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education / training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

Qualifications
Successful applicants will be accomplished investigators in clinical, translational or basic science with a focus on laboratory-based research in the areas of heart failure / transplant, pulmonary hypertension, imaging, genomics, vascular biology, complex dysrhythmias or regenerative medicine.
