Clinical Cardiologist (3 ) - The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine enthusiastically announces the recruitment of a general cardiologist to provide clinical cardiology services, predominantly at the Baltimore VA Medical Center.This cardiologist will deliver care to our military veterans in both inpatient and outpatient settings at the Assistant Professor level on a clinical educator pathway. Expertise in echocardiography, as demonstrated by board certification in echocardiography, would be highly beneficial.

The University of Maryland School of Medicine maintains an active affiliation with the VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) which is located next to the University of Maryland Medical Center in downtown Baltimore, MD. This position is expected to be geographic full-time between the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the VAMHCS.Expected faculty rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Qualifications
This position requires a MD degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent) and candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license,be board certified in internal medicine and board certified / board eligible in cardiovascular medicine.The individual we seek will have fellowship training in cardiology and will demonstrate potential for excellence in clinical care and teaching.The ideal candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of the general cardiology programs at the University of Maryland Medical Center (downtown and midtown campuses) and at the VAMHCS.Additionally, because this position is funded (in part) by the VA Medical Center, all applicants must be US citizens.
