Director, Center Operations-(Z)
The University of Maryland School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Center Operations to oversee the Center of Excellence on Problem Gambling in the Department of Psychiatry’s Division of Addiction Research and Treatment. The Operations Director is responsible for providing overall project supervision and administrative leadership. The selected candidate will oversee and manage the Center, including grants and contracts, prevention, training, outreach and awareness. They will participate in strategic planning along with senior leadership and set goals and objectives while ensuring timelines are adhered to and deadlines met. The selected Director of Center Operations will develop, implement, and mange goals and objectives of the Center.

Primary Duties
- Plans, directs and manages operational functions of the Center in accordance with contractual parameters.
- Understands the Center’s goals and develops solutions that aligned with the goals.
- Develops and evaluates operations policies and procedures for the Center.
- Oversight of awareness, prevention, outreach, training, Helpline, research and public policy initiatives, collaboration with the research division.
- Networking with community / state organizations; maintaining ongoing working relationship with the media.
- Working collaboratively with the gambling industry to insure responsible gambling practices.
- Oversees the recruitment, performance and training of team members and continually review strengths and weaknesses of staff to maintain a well-trained, highly involves, and motivated team.
- Oversees Center administration, including budgeting, pre- and post-award administration.
- Organizes, develops, and provides consultation to program funders when needed.
- Coordinate the quarterly and yearly reports for submission to program funders.
- Monitor, evaluate, and recommend to senior management revisions to program operating policies and procedures.
- Organize and or participate in various committees regarding problem gambling.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, information technology, or related field.
Experience : Seven years of related experience in administrative, financial, and technology.
Supervisory Experience : Three years experience at the management / leadership level.
Other : Financial disclosure is required.
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and / or experience is required only directly related education and / or experience may be substituted.
