The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is seeking a Corporate & Clinical Trials Contracts Administrator II, III, or IV in the Center for Clinical Trials and Corporate Contracts. The position will be filled at a level based on selected candidate's qualifications. This position sits within the Office of Research and Development and plays a significant role in structuring and negotiating basic-, service- and clinical-research agreements with corporate sponsors, and other collaborating organizations. This position works with UMB researchers, their research administrative teams, as well as internal partners, including budget staff, to structure and negotiate contracts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Level 2 :
- Administer, review, negotiate, analyze, and draft contract terms for corporate sponsored research agreements (material transfer, confidentiality agreements, research (basic) agreements, sponsored and UMB-initiated CTAs, research services agreements, master agreements, and collaboration agreements). Ensures contract represents campus commitments and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
- Provide ongoing in-service training to faculty and study teams.
- Evaluate and develops potential corporate-funded research collaborations and other corporate-funded research-driven business relationships.\
- Coordinate project management to include ensuring project compliance, scheduling, planning, change of scope impact analysis, reports on progress, and cost analysis.
- Problem solves layered, non-routine matters by creating solutions and adapting principles where there is lack of information; conducts non routine tasks / assignments by performing in depth analysis and interpretation; executes specialized short term projects; may participate in long term projects.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Level 2 :
Education / Experience : Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as science, engineering, business, pre-law or other discipline appropriate to position, and three years of related experience in contract development, contract negotiation, project / research management in a health or medical research environment.
Other : Juris Doctor is preferred and may be substituted for education and experience. Experience in biological, chemical, or medical research setting also heavily preferred. Financial disclosure may be required.
Level 3 :
Education / Experience : Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as science, engineering, business, pre-law or other discipline appropriate to position, and five years of related experience in contract development, contract negotiation, and project / research management in a health or medical research environment.
Other : Juris Doctor and four years of related experience in contract development, negotiation, project management, and / or business development may be substituted for education and experience. Financial disclosure may be required.
Level 4 :
Education / Experience : Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as science, engineering, business, pre-law or other discipline appropriate to position, and seven years of related experience in contract development, negotiation, project management, and / or business development.
Supervisory Experience : Supervisory experience in training, mentoring, work coordination, and monitoring work of others preferred.
Other : Juris Doctor and four years of related experience in contract development, negotiation, project management, and / or business development may be substituted for education and experience. Financial disclosure may be required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
HIRING RANGE : $74, - $82, per year for Level 2 / $90, - $, per year for Level 3 / $, - $, per year for Level 4 (Commensurate with education and experience)
