PRN positions available in our Bel Air and Havre de Grace locations. Licensure in social work, professional counseling, or similar field required. (LMSW/LGPC's required; LCSW-C/LCPC preferred)
Providing a vast continuum of behavioral health care in a variety of settings, including outpatient, primary care offices, intensive outpatient, inpatient psychiatry, Harford County's crisis center, and the emergency department, you will be able to thrive and grow professionally with our strong leadership team.
Behavioral Health Clinicians (BHC) working in the Emergency Department at our Bel Air or Havre de Grace campuses are comfortable working in a fast-past, crisis-oriented environment and act as an extension of the psychiatric provider. The Emergency Department-BHC, working in collaboration with the behavioral health team, medical team, and community stakeholders, is responsible for completing: Psychosocial assessments, developing treatment plans, and crisis de-escalation. Working independently to apply knowledge of diagnostic criteria to evaluate and recommend appropriate level of care for behavioral health patients.
One goal of all services facilitated by the BHC is to give psychiatric providers necessary information to finalize dispositions, as relevant to patient needs. BHC's work with diverse populations, age groups, and diagnoses. Serves as primary educator on topics of mental illness/mental health to patients and/or family members. Initiates coordination of discharge and aftercare services, as needed.
