The Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership (TLPL) at the University of Maryland College Park (UMCP) invites applications for the President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (PPFP).
We seek an early-career mathematics education scholar who centers issues of race and racial equity in their research and instruction.
Upon successful completion of the PPFP Program and review, the Fellowship may convert to a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.

The successful Fellow will be appointed for a one-year 12-month term beginning July 1, 2025, with the expectation of renewal for a second one-year term contingent on review.
The Fellow will receive a starting stipend of $67,000, health benefits, and $10,000 for research startup. During the term of appointment, the Fellow will be expected to focus primarily on research and teach one course per year.
Education :

Doctorate in mathematics education or related field (e.g., learning sciences, mathematics) by time of appointment.
Experience :
- Evidence of scholarly potential in mathematics education with research that focuses on learning, teaching, or policy in mathematics education at any level.
- Evidence of use of critical perspectives in mathematics education research that centers issues of racial equity or justice.
Preferences :
- Experience teaching mathematics to students in racially, linguistically, and culturally diverse school settings.
- Experience working with pre-service or in-service secondary mathematics teacher programs.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor doctoral, Masters, and undergraduate students, including students from populations that have been historically underserved in mathematics education spaces.
