Job Description: The University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a non tenure-track Lecturer position in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. This is a full-time appointment with teaching responsibilities, including up to eighteen (18) credit hours per academic year.
The successful candidate will teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in civil and environmental engineering, including surveying, statics, mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, probability and statistics, programming, and other related courses. They will also assist with student recruitment and advising, help with CEE curriculum development, and serve on departmental and college-level committees.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Engineering or a related field, with preference given to civil or environmental engineering-related disciplines. A PhD in Engineering or a related field is preferred, along with PE licensure or relevant professional experience. Evidence of college-level or university-level teaching experience is also essential.
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has 34 full-time faculty members, approximately 100 graduate students, and approximately 320 undergraduates. The department offers a rich cultural environment in a bucolic setting close to major urban centers.
