The Content Marketer will manage and streamline content production across multiple platforms, vendors, and marketing initiatives. This role will be responsible for coordinating content creation efforts across internal teams and external partners, ensuring that all marketing and sponsorship deliverables are executed effectively and align with brand strategy. This role is pivotal in ensuring that UMCU’s brand message is consistently represented across social media, website, email, video, sponsorship activations, and paid media campaigns.
What you will be doing in the role:
- Content Coordination & Vendor Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between UMCU’s marketing team and external vendors, including creative agencies, video production teams, photographers, and media partners.
- Manage the content production calendar, ensuring timely delivery of assets from vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee content workflows, ensuring all assets are delivered in alignment with brand standards, deadlines, and campaign objectives.
- Review and route vendor-produced content for feedback, approval, and distribution across marketing channels.
- Facilitate communication between UMCU’s digital, social, and creative teams to ensure seamless execution of content initiatives.
- Content Strategy & Execution Support
- Assist in the development, planning, and execution of content for digital marketing, sponsorship activations, and community partnerships.
- Work closely with the marketing leadership to ensure content deliverables (Detroit Lions, Michigan Athletics, NIL partnerships, community programs) are met and executed effectively.
- Coordinate asset creation for paid and organic social media, email marketing, in-branch digital screens, and website updates.
- Track content needs for major campaigns, product launches, and ongoing brand storytelling.
- Marketing & Social Media Coordination
- Maintain a library of all marketing assets, ensuring vendors and internal teams have access to the most up-to-date materials.
- Coordinate the execution of social media content, ensuring timely posting and alignment with marketing objectives.
- Manage incoming content requests from departments and vendors, prioritizing based on campaign goals and deadlines.
- Work with creative agencies to optimize content formats for social, digital, and traditional media.
- Reporting & Content Performance Tracking
- Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Manager to track content performance and identify optimization opportunities.
- Maintain detailed vendor tracking sheets, monitoring timelines, deliverables, and overall effectiveness of outsourced content.
- Provide recommendations for improving content workflows and enhancing engagement.
- Volunteers in various activities sponsored by UMCU within the University of Michigan and the communities we serve; responsible for meeting with campus partners’ onsite as needed. Representing UMCU and attending/working events as necessitated by the position. Also includes attending internal and external meetings/trainings, team building or UMCU events.
- Maintains knowledge of and follows all credit union policies and procedures regarding BSA, OFAC, U.S. Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, S.A.F.E Act, CFPB regulations and Customer Identification Program.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will need for this role:
- Bachelor's degree in related field such as Marketing, Communications, Journalism and/or similar experience.
- 3 years of professional work experience in marketing communications, design, content coordination, marketing project management or digital marketing
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple vendors and deadlines
- Experience with social media content planning, digital marketing, and brand storytelling.
- Proficiency in content management tools, project management platforms, and digital asset libraries.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or other design/video production tools is a plus.
- Ability to measure and analyze business impact
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
