General Purpose of Job:
Performs general clerical, organizational and office support duties for the department.
Essential Duties:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties for the department, example: scheduling appointments, interacting with patients / customers, preparing medical records for audits.

Identifies and trouble shoots technology failures and follows computer downtime processes.

Independently assists departmental caregivers by coordinating mail, email, fax, phone call distributions.

Maintains office supply par levels and distribution of supplies to caregivers.

Operates and utilizes office equipment and software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Copy / Fax Machine, electronic health record, and answering and directing a multiline phone.

Communicates with patients, families, members of the health care team and others in a professional, diplomatic and empathetic manner.

Ability to function in a fast paced, large volume setting.
General Requirements | None. |
Work Experience | Minimum of six months experience in a healthcare office or similar setting. |
Education | High school diploma, GED or successful completion of 12 grades combined with continued enrollment in early college program. |
Specialized Knowledge and Skills | * Clerical skills necessary to perform data entry, prepare reports, and tabulate routine data * Interpersonal skills for effective communication * Knowledge of basic medical terminology, health insurance, policies, or procedures * Ability to view a computer CRT for prolonged periods * Able to respond to and prioritize multiple requests and variable degrees of unpredictability requiring adaptability in work activities * Demonstrated working knowledge of computer applications/ software's, including Epic and keyboard functions * Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel at the beginner level. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Demonstrated operational knowledge of the computerized scheduling system. * May perform patient charge entry and retrieval of reports. |
