Job Summary

Michigan Medicine?s Audiology program announces the availability of a term-limited twelve-month post-doctoral Audiology Fellowship with a focus on Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IOM) to begin in June 2025. This is a full-time salaried position with medical and other benefits.

The Audiology IOM team at Michigan Medicine monitors hundreds of surgical procedures each year, including neurosurgery, neurotology, and head and neck cases. Monitoring modalities primarily include cranial nerve electromyography, auditory evoked potentials and somatosensory evoked potentials in cases including, but not limited to, cochlear implantation, chronic ear disease, parotidectomy, and vestibular schwannoma resection. The fellowship builds upon the IOM Fellow?s clinical electrophysiology skillset by providing an immersive OR experience 3 days per week. Didactic lectures, IOM journal club, weekly neurotology case conference, and 2 outpatient clinic days per week enhance the Fellow?s training. No prior IOM experience is necessary; however, intellectual curiosity, internal drive, and a genuine interest in electrophysiology is a must.

Candidates must possess a graduate degree in Audiology from an accredited institution and be licensed as an audiologist in Michigan prior to beginning the Fellowship. Demonstrated clinical experience in clinical neurophysiology is a plus. The Fellow will work in Audiology with clinicians who assess and manage over 18,000-20,000 patients annually. The selected candidate may participate in clinical research endeavors during the Fellowship.
