Job Summary
The Department of Pathology, Division of Pathology Informatics (PI) is seeking a team member to fill an IT Project Senior Manager position. Under general direction, the project manager is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of IT projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. The project manager will primarily work with other members of the PI leadership team and other leaders within the Department of Pathology. This person will serve as the point person for project intake, review, and tracking of active, pending, and deferred projects submitted to PI.
Responsibilities
- Take projects from original concept through final implementation
- Interface with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services
- Participate in defining project scope and objectives
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports
- Conduct project meetings and be responsible for project tracking and analysis
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables
- Manage the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables
- Provide technical and analytical guidance to the project team
- Recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems
- Assist with prioritization, ranking, and tracking of active projects
- Maintain the project intake, review, and tracking of active, pending, and deferred projects
- Review and modify project intake process
- Assist with writing project policies and procedures
- Escalate resource conflicts to team leads / manager / director as needed
