Job Summary
The Office of Marketing & Communications (MAC) at the University of Michigan-Flint is primarily focused on digital marketing initiatives that support the enrollment goals of the university. Responsibilities of the department include campus communications, media relations, and upholding the brand guidelines set forth by the University of Michigan for all three campuses. MAC is searching for a Photographer/Videographer to join the team.
Reporting to the director of MAC, you will be a key member of the marketing and communication team.
You will creatively translate abstract concepts into effective visual form in multiple media; adapt graphics to fit the needs of visual projects; use production tools to design, edit and produce video and graphic materials; compose and edit materials; explain technical concepts in a non-technical manner; assist staff with corresponding technical requirements, research and learn new software and techniques in technology.

Responsibilities*
Hybrid
The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes

Responsibilities*
- Help provide direction for university social media channels, e-communications, digital and print collateral projects.
- Direct and participate in content creation, continuing development of the university's news department, ensuring adoption and integration of appropriate new technologies to maximize information delivery and client engagement.
- Help lead the institution's branding and public relations efforts to support the university's vision.
- Help develop and implement strategic initiatives that differentiate the university in the higher education marketplace using all available communication channels including collateral development, web and social media.
- Work directly with colleagues to develop visual pieces that promote the university's brand.
- Associate?s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
- Two or more years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong photography and videography skills
- Skill with photo and video editing software
- Quickly produce digital assets, including videos for website, social media and emails
