Postdoctoral Research Position in Synthetic Organic Chemistry

The laboratory of Dr. Christos P. Constantinides at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join an exciting Department of Energy (DOE)-funded project focused on developing new stable organic radical polarizing agents for nuclear spin hyperpolarization in NMR spectroscopy and imaging applications.
Project Overview
This research aims to leverage radical dynamics to improve spin polarization transfer efficiency, using stable organic radicals as platforms for Overhauser DNP. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel organic radicals and assist in evaluating their properties using multi-field DNP-NMR.
Key Responsibilities
The initial appointment is term-limited for one year, with the possibility of extending it up to three years based on performance and the availability of funds.
Required Qualifications*
Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, or all requirements for the degree must be completed by the start date
Desired Qualifications*
Expertise in heterocyclic chemistry
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

- Training undergraduate researchers
