Job Summary
The Savier lab at the University of Michigan in the Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology is looking for a Research Laboratory Tech Intermediate to conduct experiments and manage the laboratory. The Savier lab is seeking motivated candidates to help conduct the multilevel approach the lab is taking to map the visual system, functionally and anatomically. More precisely, we are looking for candidates interested in the management of laboratory and supplies, management of research animal colonies and performing histology and in vivo imaging and quantification.

Responsibilities*
- Execute and analyze histological and in vivo imaging experiments
- Handle and train laboratory animals
- Coordinate experiments and communicate results between collaborators
- Fully documents procedures
- Manage lab supplies and orders
- Follow laboratory and institutional guidelines and protocol
- Implement and maintain safety guidelines
- Adjust work schedule according to experimental demand and work in close collaboration with other lab members
Required Qualifications*
Associate Level:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in a relevant biological science, for example, Biology, Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Neuroscience, Life Science or related disciplines.
- Must have excellent record-keeping and a good sense of logistics.
- Ability to work in a team project environment.
Intermediate Level:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in a relevant biological science, for example, Biology, Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Neuroscience, Life Science or related disciplines.
- 1-3 years of experience with imaging data analysis and software.
- Must have excellent record-keeping and a good sense of logistics.
- Ability to work in a team project environment.
Desired Qualifications*
Associate Level:
Prior experience in a laboratory setting is not required, however demonstrating interest in pursuing in academia will be considered as a plus.
Intermediate Level:
Experience with laboratory animal handling.

Background Screening
