What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Medical Director - Emergency Medicine position at University of Minnesota Physicians?
The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking a full-time board certified / eligible Emergency Medicine Master Clinician for our emergency rooms on both campuses of the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.
The role of medical director (0.3 FTE) is to lead the emergency physicians and APP's who provide care at the University of Minnesota Medical Centers. The medical director will be responsible for establishing routine meetings accessible by all JCE providers in the M Health Fairview system to discuss and establish quality and safety, customer service, people engagement, efficiency and research / education metrics and to ensure these metrics are being met by all within the system. The role will provide input regarding growth, quality, and strategy for the whole service line.
The medical director will also be responsible for participation in intermittent meetings with the Service Line, and to update the leadership with current potential concerns that effect culture, group and / or individual behavior and productivity.
0.7 FTE will be direct clinical care at University of Minnesota Medical Centers with other duties reducing clinical load as negotiated and assigned.
Performs other duties including addressing Performance Goals developed by manager and employee, and those reported in the employee's Performance Review as part of UMPhysicians' Performance Management tools. In this diverse urban setting, the physicians have the opportunity to be part of an academic center with the ability to lead and deliver direct patient care.
About the Appointment :
- Master Clinician position primarily requires clinical time in the Emergency Departments at the University of Minnesota Medical Center - East and West Bank Campuses
- Join a team of 40 physicians.
- Flexibility of schedule, (days / week, etc.)
- 1 FTE clinical is 1680 hours of clinical time

Salary : $340,000 - $400,000
