Our Psychiatry Clinic is a teaching facility affiliated with the University of Minnesota Medical School. Our team is composed of world-renowned experts skilled at managing and treating individuals with mental health needs. We offer a wide range of new treatment options for patients with anxiety, depression, and chemical dependency among other mental health conditions.
This position will provide family and couples therapy in coordinated specialty care programs for first episode psychosis and bipolar disorder. This position will also provide clinical therapeutic support to a variety of clients served in our general clinic.
What you will do as a Social Worker:
- Provides assessment and psychotherapy to clients with mental health concerns
- Complete diagnostic assessments using DSM 5
- Demonstrates ability to provide applicable care/service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served
- Uses age-appropriate communication to build rapport/therapeutic relationship
- Ensures a safe, secure environment
- Partners with client/caregiver/management in care/decision making
- Individualizes care/service plan to meet client needs
- Modifies interventions/service based on population served
- Medical Record documentation will be maintained consistent with UMP policies and procedures
- Ensuring that all medical records forms are complete, Diagnostic Assessments are completed by the end of the second session and documented within Dept of Psychiatry requirements, Treatment Plans are completed and entered into the medical record by the end of the third session depending on the age of client and there is completion of documentation and communication of billing/treatment authorization activities
- Completes the Care Coordination process for clinic team's patients
What you will need:
- Licensed Social Worker (LICSW)
- MN state license and eligibility to become a credentialed provider with insurance entities
- 2 years' experience post licensure
- Experience in providing diagnostic assessments, directing evidence-based clinical services to children and adults, and providing therapy related to mental health/concerns
