Position Description

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Mississippi (http://socanth.olemiss.edu) invites applications for the position of Instructor of Sociology. This is a regular permanent position beginning in August 2025. We are seeking a sociologist who can help us cover face-to-face instructional needs in Introductory Sociology (Soc 101), Family (Soc 301), and other 300-400 level courses as well. The teaching load for the position is 4 courses per semester and has a starting 9-month salary of $45,000.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates should have at least 2 years demonstrated teaching experience and a strong commitment to teaching. M.A. degree in Sociology or higher is required at the time of application.
