MU TITLE: Program/Project Support Coordinator II

LOCATION: St. Louis County - St. Louis, Missouri

The University of Missouri (MU) Office of Extension and Engagement's distinct land-grant mission is to improve lives, communities, and economies by producing relevant, reliable, and responsive educational strategies throughout Missouri. MU Extension, in partnership with University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL), is launching Civic Collaboration Fellows (CCF), an advanced leadership capacity building program focused on learning with and from resilient communities nationally and internationally. Fellows will expand their civic infrastructure and economic mobility knowledge, build critical civic networks, and foster effective collaborative regional leadership by learning from innovative cities that have faced similar challenges.

The Civic Collaboration Fellows Cohort will draw from alumni of the Neighborhood Leadership Fellows (NLF) program, a civic leadership program that provides training to community residents from the St. Louis Promise Zone, a geographic area comprised of parts of St. Louis City and North St. Louis County, as well as key partner representatives from the community economic development field within the footprint of St. Louis City and north St. Louis County.

The Civic Leadership Program Coordinator position is funded through a three-year grant and has responsibilities with Community Development at MU Extension.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manage logistical leadership program and corresponding event functions including but not limited to recruitment, marketing, communication, and coordination with participants
  • Communicate with vendors about supplies and orders
  • Interface with internal university systems across UMSL and MU Extension in order to execute program, including but not limited to: Shared Services, business management, fiscal management, MU Extension administrative support
  • Develop and utilize organizational systems in a team setting
  • Manage program-related partner relationships
  • Draft and synthesize notes and program materials
  • Design and develop visual and written communication products including websites, newsletters, reports
  • Track programmatic outputs and outcomes
  • Assist with grant applications and reporting.
  • Travel and work on select evenings and weekends are required for this position.
  • Conduct all activities in accordance with the Civil Rights Acts, Title IX, Rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act and local, state and region affirmative action plans.
  • As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.

LEADERSHIP RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Administrative supervision and program leadership are received from the Principal Investigator of the grant. This position will have no direct reports.

Shift

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Ability to travel and to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, is required to fulfill assigned responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Qualtrics, Emma, Dot Digital, Canvas and/or Survey Monkey,
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Familiarity Publisher, Canva, InDesign, or other visual design program knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong cultural competency skills
  • Experience with facilitation and meeting planning

  • Ability to manage projects with a number of moving parts and high volume of detail
  • Expertise in building relationships with diverse audiences
  • Strong listening, written, and oral communication skills

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $21.28 - $29.00 hourly

Grade: GGS-009
