Central Missouri Research, Extension and Education Center - Foremost Dairy
Primary responsibility will involve milking of cows; responsibilities will also include a variety of other dairy farm tasks relating to the research activities and other projects supporting dairy research programs at the University of Missouri Dairy Farm. Milk cows in automated milk parlor. Maintain, clean, and sanitize milking environment and equipment; follow proper milking procedures as instructed; monitor milking equipment for proper function and report abnormal situations with milking equipment. Herd milking cows to milking parlor, clean barns, and cattle lots, haul manure to fields, operate manure flushing system, feed appropriate rations to lactating herd and young stock. Perform miscellaneous duties associated with dairy production, research, and teaching such as transporting and hauling of cattle feed and bedding as needed; observe and report to supervisor heat behavior of cattle, assist staff and other professionals in their efforts at the farm, maintenance on facilities and equipment and maintain accurate records on cattle and cropping operation, and intermittent field work.

Weekend and daily schedule coordinated by the Farm Manager
- A high school education or an equivalent combination of education and farm experience.
- Ability to operate automated milking equipment and collect accurate research data.
Experience working with farm animals is desirable.
Salary Range: $12.73 - $19.91
